The Belgians had been the highest-taxed workers in the European Union for five years running — but no more, reports POLITICO Europe’s Fiona Maxwell. France has now taken that title, according to new research from the Institut Économique Molinari, with a 59.5 percent real tax rate on the labor force. Belgium, following a tax cut from Prime Minister Charles Michel, now taxes labor at 56.9 percent.
